Hello,

i am trying to modify the provided verbal stroop task to include 50 trials, half of which have a rectangle border around the word to indicate to the participant that they should read the word in those particular cases. I have successfully located a script for a border with a picture (or word) on top from another forum. I do not, however, know how to write the script so that half of the trials have a border around them and half do not. Any help anyone could provide would be appreciated and I am more than willing to provide more information if needed.

Set up border vs. non-border trials, run them via the <block>'s /trials attribute in the desired proportions. This is basic stuff and you should be able to set this up after completing the tutorials in the documentation as well as working through the existing script you are planning to adapt.
