Hi,

I am finally ready with my first script. Took a lot of help from existing scripts and this forum.
Some questions about data remains which I will ask only if I am not able to find answers in Ron's blog.

I m planning to get some pilot data using M Turk. How can I prevent subjects to take the test multiple times ? ( If this has been asked before, please guide me to the relevant link . )

Thanks

Abhi

Unless MTurk provides the ability to prohibit workers from completing a "HIT" multiple times, you can't. I'd be surprised, though, if if it didn't. You may want to that question up with MTurk's support.

Thanks

M Turk supports it.

Another thing, It takes long time to download when subjects click on the link. Overall it contains 20 images and one error sound file. The total folder size is just 4 MB then why does it take so long to download ? Is there a trick to reduce the download time? Which format is preferred by Inquist for images and sounds to reduce download time ?

As a general rule: The smaller your files sizes, the quicker the download. I.e., use a compressed image format (e.g. JPG) instead of an uncompressed one (e.g. BMP). 4MB, though, should not take particularly long to fetch provided an internet connection with decent speed is available. What exactly does "long" mean here?

Thanks

I had some png images. Converted all the images to jpg.

Reduced the download time to some extent.
