Hi, I've got a batch file which runs three scripts. Everything works fine on one of my laptops (Windows 8 with Chrome), but on another (XP with Chrome) I get the following popup message when the Start button is pressed (to begin the study):
"Inquisit was unable to contact the server to verify that this script is licensed. The script will not be run."
Any ideas why I'm getting this message? I do have a license. Thanks.

Either (1) a local firewall (or the like) on the XP box is blocking communication to the server for verification or (2) the XP box doesn't have TLS 1.0 enabled (which is the minimum protocol version required for secure comms to the server during license verification; SSL2 and SSL3 have been disabled server-side a while ago to improve overall security). To enable TLS support under XP, see http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaushal/archive/2011/10/02/support-for-ssl-tls-protocols-on-windows.aspx

Thanks Dave, #2 was the culprit.

What if the issue was with #1 - firewall? I have a participant experiencing the same error message on Windows 10.

Even under Windows 10, the participant should first verify that TLS is enabled. If the issue is indeed due to a firewall (local or on the network perimeter), the participant needs to edit the firewall's rules to allow Inquisit to communicate with the server.
