Hello, for fMRI experiments I used Presentation in the past and somehow my mindset is stuck in this setting, so here are my questions: 1) Do I have the option to turn on an emulation mode to check that everything is working as expected, although I'm not at the scanner? 2) I found the pretrial signal attribute. However, I'd like Inquisit to wait for 5 pulses from the scanner and then start. Is this possible with this attribute or should I use something else? 3) Will the pulses from the scanner be written automatically in the logfile? 4) Is there maybe an example script in the library? Thank you for the answer. Best Julia

#1: No, there is no emulation mode or the like. #2: You should not use /pretrialsignal in your case. Instead use a standard <trial> element taking the input from the scanner as response. Run that trial 5 times. The exact settings you need depend on how your scanner is connected to the machine executing Inquisit (parallel port? serial port?) and the signal the scanner sends. #3: If you use a <trial> as indicated in #2, yes. #4: Since every external device works somewhat differently (cf. #2), no, I don't think there is one that would be useful for you.
