We have been using Inquisit to direct participants to a log-in page within our institution. Due to recent security changes, this page will no longer accept this re-direction - it simply gives and authentication error.
This occurs around half way through the experiment, so a simple solution would be to minimize Inquisit, run the site from a normal browser, then maximise Inquisit and continue.
However, as far as I am aware this cannot be done. ctrl+q just CTD and using the windows key brings up the task bar, but Inquisit remains displayed regardless of what is then launched.
Does anyone have a solution to this?

No, there isn't really a good solution here. Once it's running, Inquisit isn't supposed to be minimized or suspended -- taking maximum control over the hardware / avoiding interference from other programs is one important aspect in how it achieves accurate stimulus and response timing.
What you can possibly do is run your Inquisit experiment(s) in "windowed" mode by setting the <defaults> elements /windowsize attribute. That should make it somewhat easier to switch back and forth between Inquisit and other applications (e.g. a regular browser), but it may throw off timing.
