Mac freeze/slow down

Hello,
A student reported that in some of your Mac in the laboratories seem to slow down/freeze at times for the experiment (though it seems to not happen during the exp). In one of them it wouldn’t open an Inquisit script (Inquisit was open and neither double-clicking nor using the menu would open it). The operating system is the same for all of them and the Mac are all the same (apparently). Do you know what it may be and how the problem could be solved?
Many thanks,
Elena

The first thing I'd try is making sure that all the machines are running the same, up-to-date Inquisit Lab version. The current release can always be obtained from https://www.millisecond.com/download/ . Beyond that, I have no spontaneous idea about the apparent freezing issue you described (there have been no similar reports either, as far as I am aware). It is that case, though, that when started Inquisit Lab will try to contact the millisecond.com server -- if for some reason the internet connection is slow or unreliable at that point, the application may appear to freeze for a brief period of time, but it should ultimately stop trying to contact the server and recover / run normally.

If you have further information, such as the exact OSX version (available via the "About this Mac" menu), or other particulars of your setup (e.g. scripts, etc. are stored on and run from on a network drive), please don't hesitate to add them to this thread.
