Creating an IAT in which participants provide responses that are then used as the task's stimuli

Hi,

I'm very new to Inquisit. I'm not sure whether I can modify the IAT's code to allow participants provide the stimuli items. Prior to the IAT, I want to ask participants to provide some responses, and then use that person's responses as the stimuli items in the task itself. I've looked at the help manual and tutorials but I can't find the answer. Is this possible? What is the code that I need to include and where?

Thanks!

Yes, that is perfectly possible to do. There actually are several IAT templates that do exactly that. See the

IAT with Items and Labels Provided by Participants
and
IAT with Items Provided by Participants

scripts available at https://www.millisecond.com/download/library/IAT/
