new vs old release

Hello, I can see you released Inquisit 6.5.2. We currently have version 6.4.2 installed in all our lab computers, so we were wondering if we should upgrade soon or if the currently installed version could still work ok.

I tested an old script with version 6.5.2 on my home laptop and it seems running fine, however it may not have any of the bugs that you fixed.
I also wanted to test if new scripts were running on version 6.4.2 version but I couldn't as in your download page that older version is "linked" to version 6.5.2.

Could you please let me know if new scripts (written in 6.5.2) still run in 6.4.2? And vice-versa, will old script (written in 6.4.2 or earlier) run in Inquisit 6.5.2? What are the major differences?

Thanks

Newer releases generally supersede older ones, so any script written in 6.4.2 should work under 6.5.2 just as well. As for differences, it's mainly performance improvements and minor bug fixes.

If you need Inquisit 6.4.2 Lab for some reasons, the installers can be downloaded via
https://inquisit.millisecond.com/6/6_4/win/Inquisit_642.exe (Windows)
and
https://inquisit.millisecond.com/6/6_4/mac/Inquisit_642.pkg (Mac)

And does a script written in 6.5.2 run with the 6.4.2 Inquisit web player (and Inquisit Lab)?

Since there were no new feature additiions from 6.4.x to 6.5.x, yes, this should work, but it's not generally true. Suppose we add a new cool feature in 6.6.x, then obviously any script making use of that cool new feature cannot work under 6.5.x or below, which does not have the cool new feature.
