I am using Inquisit 4. On my home computer the time setting runs perfectly and also gathers the time-data per block. But on the computer, which I am actually using for the experiment, the time setting doesn´t work at all. Hence no time-data per block is collected.

Could you please tell me a quick way to deal with the problem. My survey is supposed to start on monday (( :

Inquisit 4 is still in beta, i.e., such issues are likely to exist. Please report them to inquisit@millisecond.com and include (1) a detailed problem description, (2) the specifications of the computers showcasing the issue and (3) the affected script / data, so the issue can be fixed in a future update. Thanks.

The quick way to deal with the problem is to either use Inquisit 3 for data collection or a different machine running Inquisit 4.

Sorry - but I do have more questions now. Is Inquisit 4 convertible into Inquisit 3 without any problems or data loss? Plus does Inquisit 3 has the option to record time-data per block? And how do I install this function?

If your script uses functionality exclusive to Inquisit 4, it won't work in Inquisit 3. You should simply install Inquisit 3 and try.

I honestly (and unfortunately) have no idea what that's supposed to mean. Please clarify.

What I meant was, that in Inquisit 4 it is possible to record the time of day when the subject solves one block or task of the experiment. Hence one can oversee each block/ task plus the time of day in the data file. I need this function to compare a physiological parameter measured simultaneously with the task performance of each subject in one block/ task of the experiment.

I hope you get an idea of what I meant earlier. Unfortunately it is very difficult for me to explain.

If you cannot give me a concrete example of the code you are using, I cannot tell you if any of it relies on functionality exclusive to Inquisit 4 / not available in Inquisit 3. I thus can only repeat my previous advice: Download Inquisit 3, install it, and try / check for yourself. Or find a different machine to collect your data on using Inquisit 4, i.e., one that performs as desired (such machines obviously do exist since you claim things are working properly on your home computer).
