I recented used Inquisite 4 to develop a new IAT task. Based on the Tutorial, I only modified the "attribute" stimuli and the "target" stimuli. However, when I run the experiment with the modified script, there is an error message said that "Unable to access the data file at "IAT_rawdata.iqdat". Verify this is a valid path."  I checked that I have the rawdata file and summary data file both in the smae folder with the script.  Has anyone encountered similar problem, if so, could anyone provide some tips on how to solve this problem? Thanks!

Make sure you don't have any of those data files opened in either Inquisit or another program -- doing so prevents the script from accessing / adding data to these files.

If the issue persists despite the above, please provide the full script by attaching the file to this thread.

Thanks for providing the script. There are no issues with the code and data recording works just fine for me -- no error messages.

The only reason, then, I can think of why you are getting an access violation error is that you have the script stored in a location on your computer where you do not have write access under your user account (for example, this would be the case for the C:\ root under modern Windows systems). Have you tried moving the script to a location where you certainly have proper write access (e.g. your Desktop or My Files folders)?
