I had a participant today report that they get the "cannot contact the server to verify that this script is licensed" error--usually this I can help them with because it is the TLS setting in XP causing an issue.  But this particular person is running Windows 7 and says she can't make it run in any browser despite previously being able to run Inquisit-based studies.  Any idea what might be happening?

Indeed, TLS should not be any problem under Windows 7 -- it may be worthwhile to double-check nevertheless.

More likely, something else is blocking the Inquisit Web engine on the machine from communicating with the server -- a firewall (installed locally or on the network) would be the most likely culprit. FWIW, I have not heard any similar reports, which suggests the issue is particular to that machine. I can say with certainty that there isn't any general problem with or incompatibility between Windows 7 and Inquisit Web.

Also worth trying: Different browser and launch method (accessible via the "Having trouble starting" section at the bottom of the launch page. Hope this helps.
