Digit Symbol Substition Task

I have paid for four Inquisit licenses and need to collect data repeatedly from a number of participants but I have realised that the symbol-number pairings are not randomised and I am worried about the potential learning effects that this will have. Does anyone know if there is a way to randomise these pairings? Cheers

Hello,
We can add a randomized version to the task library. Not sure how long it will take offhand, but should be ready in a week or so.

Thank you very much. Is it possible also to get a randomised version of the OSpan task? My study starts two weeks from today and if you could help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated.

The OSpan is randomized -- only the practice trials are "fixed", i.e. always the same, and are supposed to be. If that's not what you mean, please clarify. Thanks!

We're looking into randomizing the Digit Symbol Task. To avoid learning effects, we're thinking it's best to vary not only the digit-symbol mappings but the order of symbols in the matrix. Towards that end, it would be easier for us to simply create N variations of the script with different mappings and orders, and as it turns out, we already have these in hand anyway. How many times will your participants be taking this test?

My participants will be taking the test 53 times.

Hi
I was wondering if any progress had been made on getting a randomised version of this test? My study starts in less than four days and I am starting to worry.
Thanks
Alex

I've attached a zip with 4 different randomized pairings/orderings for this task . We are planning to produce 4 more, but unfortunately, they won't be ready until next week when Katja (the script developer) returns from vacation.

... and all 8 orderings are in attached zip.
