Hello,

Any solutions/workarounds?

Just spoke with a group trying to complete a batch questionnaire. After entering their SubjectID and clicking to "allow" access for inquisit web player to run, there is an error that pops up that includes three or so web addresses:

1. Inquisit downloader address
2. Batch file location address
3. Finish page address

These users are on Windows XP, using Internet Explorer 8, and most likely a version of Java pre-version 8.

An individual on site said that they ran the update for Java and it still did not work. Restarting the browser and computer did not resolve an issue. We did not opt to reinstall the program because this same issue occurred on five separate computers with the same specifications. However, an individual with a different computer at the site (likely newer OS, etc) had no problems so to rule out firewalls or other security issues. There was no opportunity to install a different web browser and try that.

Unfortunately, I cannot be on site to troubleshoot these problems or explore further what system specifications and tools are available for updating those systems.

Inquisit 5 does not support Windows XP; the last Inquisit version to offer support for XP would be Inquisit 4. I strongly suspect that this is the source of the problem here, but I'm afraid there is no workaround. Microsoft has stopped providing updates for XP quite a while ago, and several features Inquisit 5 relies on for e.g. support of a larger variety of multimedia stimuli (video formats and the like) are simply not available under XP, but only more recent Windows versions.

Thanks for the info. I'll accept that as the source of the issue.
