Hello,
for my survey I would like to use a psychomotor tracking task. In the Inquisit Task Library, there is a pursuit rotor task, but it seems to me that the script doesn't work (file is unknown, can't either download the script or run the demo). Has anyone experience with such a task in Inquisit and can help me with a script (I have rather little experience, e.g. I don't know how to tell Inquisit that moving the cursor of the mouse along a dot which is moving onto a circle is the target) or does alternatively know what is with the file in Task Library?
Many, many thanks in advance!
Susy
FYI: I have filed a bug re. the broken download link for the Pursuit Rotor Task. It'll hopefully be fixed within a couple of days.
Given that you state to have only little experience, I would advise to wait for the script to become available again. Doing this from scratch is relatively complicated, requires a somewhat advanced understanding of Inquisit's programming model and I wouldn't even know where to begin explaining.
If you want to make some headway anyway, you could start by studying the Spatial Delayed Response Task script, which covers a number aspects re. trigonometric functions and Euclidean distance calculations which would also be useful for implementing psychomotor tracking tasks.
Thank you very much for the quick response and the hint with the spatial delayed response task. I will wait for the new script. That sounds very difficult to do it myself.
Hi Dave,
did you hear something new about the pursuit rotor task? The task libraray hasn't been updated yet.
Many thanks,
No, I haven't, unfortunately. It may sometimes take a while before people get around to fixing a particular bug / broken link. Apologies for the inconvenience.
