Dear All,

we just noticed that on our lab computers, Inquisit 4 takes about 10 times longer in preparing an experiment than Inquisit 3 for the exact same script.

This time difference is reproducible. To give some absolute values: Inquisit 3 needs about 8 seconds, Inquisit 4 more than a minute.

Is this to be expected or do we have to check our hardware setup?

Given that V3 and V4 differ quite substantially in some respects (V4 does a lot more syntax checking and parsing, uses a different graphics backend for some stuff), such differences in prep times are nothing to worry about in principle. Substantial runtime differences would be more worrisome, of course. I'll also say that the difference seems quite drastic in this particular case -- it's greater than what I have seen so far. Can't be sure where that comes from without more info re. the script in question.
