Bandwidth will mainly depend on your experimental materials -- Inquisit Web experiments need to download all necessary files to a given participant's computer prior to actually executing the procedure. This is because to ensure proper stimulus and response timing, allmeasurements have to be performed locally on the participant's machine, not on the server-side.

If your scripts display many files and/or particularly large files (pictures, videos, sounds, etc.), a low-bandwidth connection will result in relatively long startup times.

To get an estimate of the bandwidth required, you should thus determine the total storage space taken up by your experimental materials and multiply that with the number of persons expected to access the experiment concurrently from the respective network.

I emailed this question to costumer support as well.

I amcurrently running an inquisit script for data collection in schools. At theschool I will visit tomorrow, there seem to be some troubles.

They use aVPN connection (their words, not quite sure myself what that means), and whenthey tried to run the experiment they found out that with just 1 person loggingin, time to start up and time between different experiments within my batch wasvery long. They fear that tomorrow, when approximately 30 children will log onsimultaneously, the batch won’t run (or we won’t be able to finish in time).

They askedme what the necessary bandwidth per participant is, so they can see if theirlocation is up to this standard.

I am not sure about this, can you help me?
