I'm a little confused about how the scoring works in the task library's Digit Span script.

In research articles I often see 'digit span' reported as a simple number (e.g. "digit span was 6")... I thought the "fTE_ML" (for forward) and "bTE_ML" (for backward) scores corresponded to this... but looking at scores from my pilot study, most people seem to have gotten 8 or 9. One person got 10. This seems awfully high, and actually I thought 8 was the highest score.

... am I misunderstanding the way scoring works, or have I messed something up in the script?
