It's currently not possible with <openended>. It is possible with <textbox> / <surveypage>:

Hi, I use an openended trial, but the text that is entered appears very small, which I would like to change. I found out how to change the size of the textbox, but this doesn't do anything to the text that is entered. Increasing fontsize within the openended only enlarges the button =( I would appreciate it very much, if you could help me with this.
Best Julia
