I've been searching around for how to allow a participant to pause in the middle of a video, type up a response, and then resume the video. The only information on this question I could find was this post from 11 years ago: http://www.millisecond.com/forums/Topic186.aspx which unfortunately has an answer that was cut off mid-sentence. Sorry if I missed something about that response or if this question has already been answered elsewhere.

Additionally, during the pause while the participant is typing, how would one make sure that the reaction time timer also pauses? The task involves the possibility of reacting to an incorrect stimulus (at any time) before the correct stimulus appears on the video. For example, I can set the Trial to have beginresponsetime = 6000 if the correct stimulus first appears at 6:00 in the video, but will the timer continue to progress if the participant pauses early and types up a response, or will the timer pause automatically with the video? Once again, the video needs to progress from where they paused in order to make sure they finish the video and see the correct stimulus.

Please advise on this question.
