Oh, BTW, I just spotted a bug in the forum software. Obviously you cannot use < or > in a posts topic.

<list> supersedes and replaces <counter> in Inquisit 4. There is nothing a <counter> can do that a <list> cannot. The <counter> element is still present and works in Inquisit 4 for backwards-compatibility with Inquisit 3 scripts. For anything specifically targeting Inquisit 4, use of <list> is recommended.

Hello All,
one question as to the difference between the <counter> and the <list> element. Am I correct that the counter is in every respect a boiled-down version of the list or can things be done with a counter that cannot be achieved with a list?
