Dear Inquisit users,

I’m working on a modified version of the Self-Paced Reading Task which does the following:
trial1 (read 3 words) -> trial2 (read a sentence) -> trial3 (answer a question) -> trial4 (recall words read in trial1) -> trial5 (end and get ready for next item).

I have a problem with ‘trial4’ where participants have to type into the computer using the keyboard the words read in trail1. It is very important for me to be able to advance to ‘trial5’ by pressing the ‘Enter’ key (or some other key but not the mouse); I don’t want people to use the mouse to click the button. It’s important for different reasons and one of them is replicating something already done.

I tried using both ‘openended’ and ‘surveypage’, which can collect written answers, but I couldn’t find a way to end them by pressing ‘Enter’. Is there any way to do that? For example, using the branch attribute or some other function that detect the keyboard input.

I would appreciate any help you can give to solve this issue.
Thank you.
Luca
