Correct. If you want to avoid the necessity of the participant having to install a particular codec (pack) first, chose a codec for your videos that's available on most systems out-of-the-box. That would be either MPEG-2 (which should work under both Windows and OSX), or administer different video formats via conditional <include> elements to Windows vs. OSX users (e.g. WMV for Windows, MOV for OSX; cf. https://www.millisecond.com/forums/Topic9930.aspx ).

Hi,

We have programmed a SRC task (including two short video clips). When running the task on our computers, we first got an error message about the videos. After installing the k-lite codec the task runs smoothly. We would like to use the task in a web setting (Inquisit web 4) and I am wondering whether there is any other way to fix this problem. I assume that running the task will depend on whether the participant has installed this codec on their device, right?

Many thanks for your help!
