Yes. You can do that via the <slider> element's /defaultresponse attribute.

<surveypage mypage>
/ questions = [1=myslider]
</surveypage>

<slider myslider>
/ range = (1,7)
/ defaultresponse = 3
</slider>

Okay thanks.
Is there any possibility to change the slider start position? So when I have a scale from 1 to 7, that the start position of the slider is on 3, not on 4?

Thanks in advance!

No, not using a <slider> element alone. Those would have to be separate question elements displayed on the same page.

Hey, I have a question: In my survey, I use a slider from 1 to 5. I want to include the categories "don't know" and "answer denied". Is there any possibility to create a slider from 1 - 5 (1=agree strongly, 5 = disagree strongly) and then two extra options ("don't know" and "answer denied") which aren't included in the slider?
I tried it with radio buttons instead of the slider as well, but it doesn't look very well.
