You can use <br> HTML tags for line breaks and HTML entities for umlauts respectively. Example:

The characters you need can be encoded as follows in HTML:

Dear all,

I just uploaded my experiment to Inquisit to run it as an online study. Now I am facing the following problem:

For me it is necessary to create a German launch page at the beginning of the experiment. But when I type in the text under "Enter any text you'd like to display on the launch page (optional):" and click on Save or Next, Inquisit transfers all the special German characters (ä,ö,ü,ß) into question marks. And the line breaks I enter disappear as well. I saw previous scripts on our licence, which showed the special characters. And when I enter a headline for the launch page it shows them too. But I couldn't figure out how to display them correctly in the text.

Is there any help?

Thanks!

Jakob.
