The id is generated when someone loads the launch page. Whether s/he ultimately decides to participate in the experiment or not, the generated id is out. I.e., the "gaps" you are seeing are probably due to people not opting to participate at that moment, perhaps returning later (which would generate another id).

Dear all,

my experiment is now running online. I chose to generate subject ids sequential, but the first participants get the following subject ids: 24,35,38,40,...

For my experiment it is very important to have sequential ids because they assign participants to 1 of 4 experiments and 1 of 24 stimulus sets. Is there any explanation for this incomplete subject id sequence? And is there any way to guarantee exact sequential ids?

Thanks al lot!

Jakob.
