Hello --

I'm tech support for a department at UNC Chapel Hill whose projects do a lot of data collection (FPG Child Development Institute).

We have some laptops in the field that already have Inquisit 5 on them -- we had purchased 10 education copies earlier this year.

The data collectors and their laptops are all coming in on one day, and we need to transfer all of their software over to the new laptops.    With Inquisit licensing, is it OK to install to the new laptops beforehand or not?  Also do we need to do some type of deregistration when we do the transfer?   Or can we just uninstall from the old laptops?

Just asking so we don't have any trouble.   Our project and the programmer don't want to run in to any problems with the laptop transfer, and they want the data collectors to be able to work on the old laptops right up until the last day before the transfer.

Thanks so much for your help,

Wendy

Yes, it is perfectly okay to prepare the machines beforehand.

There is no bespoke deregistration procedure. Uninstalling the software from the old / no-longer-in use laptops would be enough.

Hope this helps.
