Maybe, depends on how exactly you envision that to work. It would not be possible to have the "type a number" window pop up as an overlay over the currently running <surveypage>, it would have to be a separate trial (e.g. <openended> that you can run at random points after a surveypage has been completed, for example.

Hello again,

An additional question: I would like to have participants fill out a survey and every so often have a window pop up that they need to type a number into. Would it be possible to run a task like this and have the survey answers and the numbers entered recorded?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Dave,

That is unfortunate, but thank you so much for your response!

Take care,

The answer for the specific kind of task you describe would still be no, that's not possible to implement, I'm afraid.

Hello,

The last reply to this post was two years ago, so I am checking back to find out if Inquisit has the capability to run concurrent tasks yet...? I am looking to have participants type random numbers (which need to be recorded) while simultaneously completing a Likert-type survey by clicking radio buttons with the mouse. Is this possible?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Ashley

Hi Dave,

thank you very much - yes, I was referring to concurrent dual tasks.

If you are referring to *concurrent* dual-tasks, the general answer is (still) "No". Depending on the specifics of what exactly you would want to implement, the answer may differ.

Hi,

I've got the same question as Malgo had three years ago: Has there been an update which now allows for dual task paradigms in Inquisit?

Thank you very much!

Martin

Is it possible to form two frames in Inquisit and simultaneously do two tasks (one would be time-constrained)?

No. The situation regarding (concurrent) dual tasks has not changed.

Hello,

I have seen your posts oon dual-task problem. Is it possible to form two frames in Inquisit and simultaneously do two tasks (one would be time-constrained)?

Your posts about dual task are all from sometime ago, like year 2009. Was there any new way recently introduced to dual tasks? I have just started working with Inquisit but couldn't find any recent information on this topic.

Thanks in advance for information.
