I am trying to program a short term memory recall task. I am having the participants hear the number sequence, do a distractor task, then recall by pressing buttons on the screen. Is there a way to program inquisit to accept a sequence of button presses as an answer?

Yes. There are a lot of scripts in the library that do something similar, so you may want to check those out.

E.g. https://www.millisecond.com/download/library/digitspan/
