Hi, all.  I'm about to start online data collection, but when I try to pilot the tasks myself I get a strange error.  After downloading the Inquisit player and pressing "Start", I get the error that the test exited prematurely and I am asked if I'd like to restart.  My OS (Big Sur) is compatible and I have tried updating browsers, but I continue to get this error for all of the tasks in my study.  Regardless if I choose to restart or not, the program freezes and I have to force quit.

Has anyone experienced this?  The resolution of the Inquisit screen is low as well.  My entire system is up to date so I don't think it's a graphics issue.  Thanks!

K.

Please provide the link to the online experiment's start page as well as the player log from your device (go to the "Tests" tab, click on "Log" in the upper right corner).

Thanks, Dave.  Here are the links to the 6 tests that I'm trying to run:

Thanks for the links and the log. There's nothing obviously wrong with the scripts and the log doesn't give any specific indications either.

One unrelated issue is that one of the tasks -- the ANT --  is currently running under an outdated version.

You can change that by entering that online experiment's settings, making sure 6.4.2 is selected in the version dropdown and then clicking "Save".

As for the "incomplete run" problem, please try the following:
- Open the Inquisit Player app on your Mac, and go to the "Tests" tab.
- Click the "Edit" icon in the upper left corner.

- Then select the tasks and click "Delete".

After that, try launching the tasks again and let me know if that changed anything

Dave, you're a genius!  After deleting the tests as you instructed, it works perfectly fine.  Thanks so much.  Data collection can finally begin.  :)
