Hello, I can see you recommend to use video in mpeg-2 if using both windows and mac. Is this preferable to any other multi-platform format like "mp4"?

MPEG-2 is a fairly outdated recommendation and may cause more problems than it solves these days. MP4 containers with H264 as the video codec and MP3 as the audio codec should be vastly prefrerable nowadays.
