Hi - my Pi and I are wondering if this issue was due to a renewal of our license, but I recently noticed that Participant 085 completed session 1 and session 2 of our treatment on 3/27, yet I only emailed him session 1's link on 3/28 in the morning. After asking him as well, he confirmed that he had not completed even session 1 until our appointment in the afternoon (3/28). I was wondering if there was a way to check this issue? Checking again, now it only says he completed session 2 on 3/27 and the other 085 entry, that was session 1, is now blank. Thank you in advance for your help

Session numbers increase automatically whenever the given participant hits the experiment's finish page. They are not contingent on a link, although you can pass in sessionid via URL parameter to override the server-side session number.

Your participant 085 first completed the experiment on 3/25, using the link https(:)//mili2nd(.)co/eo6b?subjectid=085&groupid=1&sessionid=1.
Therefore the automatically tracked session number increased from 1 to 2.

Would this not happen for every participant then? Or is this indicative that 085 is clicking onto the Inquisit app

Would what not happen?

The time line for 085 is this:
02/25, 6PM GMT: Launched experiment per link https(:)//mili2nd(.)co/eo6b?subjectid=085&groupid=1&sessionid=1 and completed. Server-tracked session number gets bumped from 1 to 2.
03/27, 4PM GMT: Participant launches study w/o session ID URL parameter. I.e. session administered is 2. Server.tracked session number gets bumped from 2 to 3.
03/27, 10PM GMT: Participant launches study w/o session ID URL parameter. I.e. session administered is 3. Server.tracked session number gets bumped from 3 to 4.
03/28, 7PM GMT: Participant launches per link https(:)//mili2nd(.)co/eo6b??subjectid=085&groupid=1&sessionid=2.

I have never seen a participant's sessions show up without using the link so I am a bit confused about what you mean by the session automatically increasing once the finish page is complete. In the timeline, when you say participant launches study w/o session ID URL, does that mean that they clicked the same link from the email?

Session numbers are tracked automatically by the server. The first time participant XYZ launches the study, they are assigned session # 1. When they hit the finish page, the server registers that, and so when the same participant XYZ launches the next time, they get session number 2, and so forth.

That automatic tracking always happens.

You can override that by passing in sessionid as a URL parameter if you want a participant to explicilty launch a specific session number.

As for what your participant 085 did and why, you'll have to ask them. They did not re-usse the link from the 1st email, otherwise they would have completed session 1 over and over again. They launched without sessionid URL parameter present, i,e, the server-tracked session number applied.

Got it that makes sense, thank you! Can you explain how to "pass in sessionid" as a URL parameter

You're doing that when you have participants launch with a link of the form

https(:)//mili2nd(.)co/eo6b?subjectid=085&groupid=1&sessionid=1

Not sure what you need me to explain, since you obviously know that already.

It's very simple: When that bolded part is present, then the session indicated in that URL paramter will be run (#1 in the example above).

When the bolded part is not present, as in

https(:)//mili2nd(.)co/eo6b?subjectid=085&groupid=1

i.e. no specific session number is indicated in a URL parameter, then the server runs the session number it's tracking internally. That session number, as explained previously, increases by 1 every time a given participant hits the experiment's finish page.
