Hi all,

I seem to have an issue with data logging and cannot figure out what is going on exactly. In the task participants see letters (v and w) appear alternatingly on the left and right side of the screen. In most cases it's a v and in 2 instances it's a w. When it's a w participants are instructed to press spacebar (logged as 57 in the output). The task simply continues and the trial does not terminate when a response is made. The issue is that not all responses are logged. My hunch is that responses are logged only in a tiny part of the trial interval (because the latency is 450 for trials in which participants do not have to respond). Ideally I'd like to have everything logged. Can anyone help me out here?

The relevant code below (and screenshot of the data attached):

<block WM_task_interval3>
/ trials = [1=clear; 2-17=noreplace(
v_vtrial,v_vtrial,v_vtrial,v_vtrial,
v_vtrial,v_vtrial,v_vtrial,v_vtrial,
v_vtrial,v_vtrial,v_vtrial,v_vtrial,
v_vtrial,v_vtrial,vr_vtrial,vl_vtrial);
18=clear]
</block>

<trial v_vtrial>
/ stimulustimes = [0=Whitestripe1, Whitestripe2, Whitestripe3,Whitestripe4, Whitestripe5, Whitestripe6,Whitestripe7, Whitestripe8, Whitestripe9, Whitestripe10,
Whitestripe11, Whitestripe12, Whitestripe13,Whitestripe14, Whitestripe15, Whitestripe16,Whitestripe17, Whitestripe18, Whitestripe19, Whitestripe20,
v_left; 300 = mask_left; 750 = v_right; 1050 = mask_right]
/ trialduration = 1500
/ response = anyresponse
</trial>

<trial vr_vtrial>
/ stimulustimes = [0 = Whitestripe1, Whitestripe2, Whitestripe3,Whitestripe4, Whitestripe5, Whitestripe6,Whitestripe7, Whitestripe8, Whitestripe9, Whitestripe10,
Whitestripe11, Whitestripe12, Whitestripe13,Whitestripe14, Whitestripe15, Whitestripe16,Whitestripe17, Whitestripe18, Whitestripe19, Whitestripe20,
w_left; 300 = mask_left; 750 = v_right; 1050 = mask_right]
/ trialduration = 1500
/ response = anyresponse
</trial>

<trial vl_vtrial>
/ stimulustimes = [0 = Whitestripe1, Whitestripe2, Whitestripe3,Whitestripe4, Whitestripe5, Whitestripe6,Whitestripe7, Whitestripe8, Whitestripe9, Whitestripe10,
Whitestripe11, Whitestripe12, Whitestripe13,Whitestripe14, Whitestripe15, Whitestripe16,Whitestripe17, Whitestripe18, Whitestripe19, Whitestripe20,
v_left; 300 = mask_left; 750 = w_right; 1050 = mask_right]
/ trialduration = 1500
/ response = anyresponse
</trial>

By default, a trial only starts accepting responses once its entire stimulus presentation sequence has completed. Your trials are behaving like they are supposed to.

If you want to start accepting responses earlier, you need to specify /beginresponsetime.
