Meanlatency does not appear to be defined as a value in the script - is this the issue?

No. meanlatency is a built-in property for the <block> element (see the language reference for details). There must be something else going on, probably a syntax error like a missing quote, bracket, etc. somewhere. I recommend you check your script thoroughly for any such oversights.

Also make sure your script actucally contains blocks named 'compatibletest' and 'incompatibletest'. If you have renamed them in any way, that would, of course, also lead to an error.

Finally, please make sure your Inquisit version is up to date. The latest release can be obtained via http://www.millisecond.com/download/.

If the error persists after checking all of the above, please attach your script to this thread (see the 'Options' tab when posting a reply).

Regards,

~Dave

Hi Dave ,

I have resolved the .jpg issue. Mac doesn't automatically save the file extension name, even when you tell it to! So I had to copy each picture, delete the original and rename the copy with a jpg extension. This seems to have resloved the issue.

Now I have two error messages regarding the page summary "Expression 'block.compatibletest.meanlatency' is invalid. Expression contains an unknown element or property name." and Expression "block.incompatibletest.meanlatency' is invalid. Expression contains an unknown element or property name."

Meanlatency does not appear to be defined as a value in the script - is this the issue?

Once again your help would be much appreciated.

Emma

By default Inquisit expects any external files (pictures, etc.) to be located in the same folder as the script. As for your JPGs, make sure they are in RGB color space, not CMYK. Various picture IATs are available in the Task Library which you can download and try.

Hi Dave, I wonder could you help?

I am using the beta desktop version for Mac.

My issue is this; I am trying to substitute the pictures in your flower/insect picture IAT with my own. However when I try to do this I get a 'do not recoginse filepath' error message.

I have also written the IAT from scratch as per the tutorial instructions with the same result.

I suppose intuitively I would think that the programer would have to 'tell' the program where to access these pictures and having gone through the various tutorials and help pages I can find no command for this.

Any help at all would be appreciated.
