Sounds like you really want a Visual Analogue Scale, not a slider. You can find code for that at https://millisecond.com/forums/Topic2446.aspx#2446.

Hi:
I'm trying to recreate a validated instrument in which the user must place an "x" closest to the adjective that most represents his/her feelings and beliefs about obese people. For example:

lazy   ____   ____     _____      ____     ____     industrious

            5          4              3             2            1

It seems that using a slider would be best, but it's unclear if I can create one that has the adjectives anchoring the slider without having the adjectives be slider choices.

Any suggestions?  Thanks so much!
