I'm using Inquisit 4 on Windows 7. I wanted to use Speech Recognition function but following message appeared:
Speech Engine error #2147024891 [this error number means that access is denied].
Any advice how can I overcome this problem with speech engine so I can fully use Speech Recognition function?
Will be grateful for help.

Speech recognition works fine under Windows 7, i.e. it's an issue with your specific system, not a general limitation.

"Access denied" would suggest a permissions issue. Try running Inquisit under an admin account and /or execute it with administrative permissions (right-click the icon, select "Run as administrator" from the context menu).

While https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/838659 applies to XP only, it's also possible a similar bug exists under Windows 7. You might want to double-check whether any of the causes listed apply to your system.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
Indeed, it is a problem with my system and language settings.
