This may be a user-specific issue unrelated to the program, but I'll put it here anyways in case someone else encounters the issue.

The keyboard input was not responsive for letters or numbers except when the numpad was used. During an AMP section the E and I were unresponsive unless the user pressed and held Ctrl + E or I. The same was required for pressing numbers such as 5 (not on the numpad - Ctrl + 5) to proceed between sections.

If you have any ideas about this, that would be great to hear. However, no solution is really required as the workaround was used.

Totally guessing here (never seen this particular issue before), but perhaps the user accidentally enabled some keyboard accessibility option: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-hardware/ctrl-key-locks/18da4b70-d684-42a8-9f12-115edaa5e0f7?auth=1
